Templates
The Templates feature in Nettware allows you to create fully customizable content for print, emails, text messages, and on-screen displays. By using dynamic placeholders, Templates automatically pull information from documents, users, and contacts—saving time and ensuring consistency.
What are Templates?
Templates are reusable content formats used across different communication channels in Nettware.
They can be applied to:
Printed documents (e.g., invoices, quotes)
Automated emails and SMS messages
On-screen system notifications
Dynamic Placeholders
Templates support placeholders, which insert real-time data into your content.
Placeholders can pull data from:
Documents (e.g., order number, total amount)
Contacts (e.g., client name, company)
Users (e.g., staff name, department)
All available placeholder options are listed under the Placeholders tab within the Template editor for quick reference and easy insertion.
Creating & Editing Templates
To manage Templates, navigate to Tools > Templates. Utilising templates is done through the various modules in the platform, depending on their purpose.
To manage templates:
Create new templates and edit existing ones, grouping them under by usability term, e.g. Group "Sales & Purchasing"
By specifying "Module Relevancy", the template will only be shown under one or more modules.
Access the Placeholders tab to view all supported fields
Templates & Notifications
Templates are the foundation of Nettware’s powerful notifications system. They enable the platform to deliver event-driven notifications with customised, context-aware content.
For example:
An automated email sent when an invoice is overdue
A text message confirming shipment
A popup alert for internal follow-up tasks
Tip: Standardize templates for your business processes to enhance communication speed, accuracy, and professionalism.
