Notifications
The Notifications feature in Nettware enables you to automate and streamline communication through custom, event-driven alerts. Notifications can be sent via email, text message (SMS), or shown on-screen, ensuring timely updates for both internal users and external contacts.
What are Notifications?
Notifications are automated messages triggered by specific events within the platform. They can be set up to deliver at the time of occurance, period of time before an event or period of time afer an event.
Examples of events include:
A new invoice being issued
A payment becoming overdue
A work order status change
A shipment being dispatched
These alerts ensure that the right people are informed at the right time — without manual intervention.
Templates + Notifications
Notifications work in conjunction with Templates.
Templates define the content of the notification, while the notification settings determine when, how, and to whom it is sent.
You can use placeholders in templates to personalize each message with live data from documents, users, or contacts.
Notification Channels
Notifications can be configured to be delivered via:
Email – for formal or client-facing communication
Text Message (SMS) – For quick, mobile alerts
On-Screen – For internal reminders and updates within the Nettware interface.
Setting Up Notifications
To configure notifications:
Navigate to Tools > Notifications
Choose name, grouping and who will be receiving the notifications.
Choose which module is this applicable for, what will be the trigger of the event -
Create
,Update
,Create or Update
,Delete
and what template will be used for the content.Set up the time for delivery of the notification - at the time of event, before or after the event.
Select the recepients of the notication
Recipients Placeholders
Applicable placeholders for any recipient of the notifications can be:
any email address
[CONTACT_EMAIL]
- the primary email address of the client or supplier on the document.[CONTACT_PHONE_MOBILE]
- the mobile number of the client or supplier on the document.[USER_EMAIL]
- the primary email address of the user, which created the document.[PORDER_REQUESTOR_EMAIL]
- the primary email address of the requestor on a Purchase Order[OPERATIVE_EMAIL]
- the primary email address of the operative(s) appointed to the Work Order[MANAGER_EMAIL]
- the primary email address of the manager on the document.[RESIDENTS]
- as per Property residents' settings
